Have you heard about Google’s recent productivity update? They’ve just added a new function to Google Calendar that might make your life a lot easier, especially if you work from home.
Remember when they originally provided the opportunity to share your working location with your coworkers in 2021? They’ve taken it to the next level.
You may now add numerous places to your calendar for any given day. So, whether you spend your time between the workplace and your home, or you’re on the road as a mobile worker, Google has you covered.
Imagine this: you’ve only been in the office for half a day before leaving for a client meeting. Your colleagues will know precisely when and where to find you with this new feature.
Google’s mission is to help us work smarter, not harder. They are aware that many of us continue to work remotely or combine office and remote work. This upgrade is intended specifically for hybrid employees.
It is only available to people who have a Workspace account, which includes:
- Google Workspace Business Standard/Plus
- Enterprise Standard/Plus
- Education Fundamentals/Standard/Plus
- The Teaching and Learning Upgrade
- Nonprofits
Unfortunately, personal accounts won’t have access to these Google Calendar features just yet.
The working location feature will be switched on by default. But if you prefer that your colleagues can’t find you (we’re not judging… we all get distracted at work) you can easily disable it.
If we can help you get the most out of everyday applications like calendars and email, get in touch.
